CarpooltoSchool respects our users’ privacy. We understand that you have put your trust in us to ensure that your family’s information is kept confidential and secure. The purpose of this privacy statement is to inform you what personal information we may collect from you, how we use such information, the choices you have regarding our use of the information and your ability to review and correct your information. As you know, our primary purpose in collecting information from you is so that CarpooltoSchool can assist you with carpool matching and carpool arrangements. We also collect information from you to improve your experience and to communicate with you about our services and updates to those services. We do not sell or rent your personally identifiable information, including your name, address, e-mail address or contact information, to third parties.

We reserve the right to change this privacy statement at any time. If our privacy statement changes, we will post the revised privacy statement on our website. Please refer to the date at the bottom of the privacy statement to determine the effective date of such policy. We collect information about you when you sign-up for CarpooltoSchool, including your: name, address, email address, telephone number, work number, cell phone number, cell phone carrier, emergency contact information, gender, child(ren)’s name, gender, date of birth and special instructions relating to your child as specified by you. We also collect the name, dates, description, times and location of your child(ren)’s activities. We also request your child(ren)’s coach’s name and contact information. It is your choice as to whether you would like to provide your information to us. You will still be able to view most of our website pages even if you choose not to provide information about yourself and/or family members. However, please be aware that if you choose not to provide the requested information, you will be unable to use our service, or access certain services, offers and content on our website.

CarpooltoSchool may also collect certain information from visitors to and customers of the Site, such as Internet addresses. This information is logged to help diagnose technical problems, and to administer our Site in order to constantly improve the quality of the Service. We may also track and analyze non-identifying and aggregate usage and volume statistical information from our visitors and customers.

Although we do not share your personally identifiable information (name, address, email address, telephone number), we may share general non-identifying information with our marketing teams. This may include but not be limited to: general demographic and geographic information of our users. This is to help us design a better user and brand experience and create better marketing campaigns for similarly situated school communities.

In the unlikely event of a sale of some or all of our business, we will disclose your personal information to a purchaser that agrees to abide by the terms and conditions of this privacy policy. Finally, we reserve the right to use and disclose your personal information where required by law, in response to legal process and law enforcement requests and/or when, in our sole discretion, it is necessary to protect your/your child(ren)’s safety and interests or the interests of CarpooltoSchool and/or its affiliates. By accepting use of CarpooltoSchool’s services, you expressly understand and agree that CarpooltoSchool may provide information about your child(ren) to either parent of the child(ren) (and/or legal guardians of the child(ren) as the case may be), regardless of the relationship or custody arrangements between the parents and CarpooltoSchool expressly disclaims disclosure of information to such sources. In addition, please be advised that, in an emergency situation that may affect the health or safety of a child, CarpooltoSchool, may, in its sole discretion, disclose personal information about you or your child(ren) to appropriate sources. In such an emergency situation, CarpooltoSchool will attempt to contact you first before disclosing such information but if such attempt is unsuccessful, you understand and agree that CarpooltoSchool may disclose such information and shall not be liable for such disclosure.

We take reasonable precautions, including use of sophisticated encryption and authentication tools, to protect the security of your personal information that you share with us. Despite these security measures, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee or warrant the security of any information you transmit to or from our website, and you do so at your own risk. Therefore, we cannot be and are not responsible for unauthorized access to your information that is the result of hackers or others who have obtained access through illegal measures, hardware or software failures, acts of God or any other factors that compromise the security of the data we collect. We urge you to keep your password in a safe place and not to divulge it to anyone. Also remember to log off your account and close your browser window when you have finished your visit to ensure that others cannot access your account.

To edit, update or correct your information, simply click on “edit my settings” on the website and make the required changes. If you need additional support, please email livechat@CarpooltoSchool. Please note that any requests to remove or update your personal information through our email support may take up to ten days.

We take special care to protect the safety and privacy of children. Our websites are general audience sites. We do not knowingly permit anyone under the age of 16 to register with us. We also do not send email correspondence to anyone who tells us that they are under the age of 13 without their parent’s consent. We urge parents and guardians to participate in their children’s online activities and use parental control or other web filtering technology to supervise children’s access to the web.
